Ernest Weatherly Greene Jr. was an American rapper and record producer, known professionally as DJ Quik. He was born on January 18, 1970, in Compton, California. He began his music career in the late 1980s as part of the hip-hop group 2nd II None.
In 1991, Quik released his debut solo album, "Quik Is the Name," which reached #10 on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified platinum. He released several successful albums in the following years, including "Way 2 Fonky" and "Safe + Sound."
Throughout his career, he has worked with artists such as Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Jay-Z. He has also produced music for movies and television shows, including "Office Space" and "The Boondocks."
In addition to his music career, Quik has had a few acting roles and has made appearances on reality television shows such as VH1's "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood." Overall, he is regarded as one of the most influential and respected figures in West Coast hip-hop.
